August 2, 1936 – July 22, 2021
Aaron DeWitt Jones Sr., aka Sonny or Bucky age 84 of Sebastian Florida passed away peacefully in his home July 22, 2021. He was born in Utica, NY August 2, 1936 and was the son of the late Earl & Lulu Westcott Jones. Aaron spent most of his childhood with his late grandparents Johnny & Mae Case. He attended Hamilton High School where he then enlisted in the Army. Aaron was a Korean War Veteran, who served from 1954 to 1963. He then married the late Sandra Marie Roballard in 1958 until her passing on February 17, 2012 and resided in Frankfort-Herkimer NY. Aaron was jack-of-all-trades before settling in and retiring as Foreman at Herkimer County Highway Department. He was a member with the Sylvan Beach American Legion, loved working outside, fishing, berry picking, traveling the country side, eating out in all the diners and relaxing at home watching his favorite shows like Ponderosa-Andy Griffith-Gun Smoke and The Golden Girls along with boxing. His favorite weekend diner was Flo's in Sylvan Beach, NY with his usual pork chops and mashed potatoes. He was loved, hard working, generous, and quiet man who loved his wife and family dearly. Aaron is survived by his children, grand children and one great grand son. Bonnie, Gene, Justin and Janelle Cobb. Aaron, Jennifer, Mathew, and Jessica Jones. Dedre, Kyle and Kory Ferguson. Crystal and Patrick Kane. Edie, Daniel, Robert, Alexandra, Jacob, Ryan, Samantha and Conner O'Neil. He is also survived by his siblings and spouses along with their children. Leila Zwierecki, MaryJo Risley, Sylvia and Larry Taylor, David and Linda Jones, Danny and Carla Jones, Richard and Linda Jones, Jimmy and Debbie Jones. He is predeceased by his siblings, Linda Eiholzer, Jean Jones and Keith Jones. We would like to give a special thanks to our sister, Edie for being able to take such great care of our father throughout these years along with her family. Want to thank her friends, Linda Cutting, Maureen Seyfried and their husbands for all the help with our father and being there for Edie to count on when she needed someone. Also want to thank our fathers caregiver, Tremaine Campbell'lewinson for helping Edie with his care his last year. To our sister Dedre, thank you for being there at a moment's notice when needed.
