Albert L. VanDerveer, 87, of Sebastian passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Tuesday, December 15th, 2015. Albert was born to the late Leemond VanDerveer and Mary Willer on October 16, 1928 in Syracuse, New York. Albert graduated from Syracuse University earning a Bachelor's Degree, which lead to his certification as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). He was a licensed CPA in three state including New York, New Jersey, and Florida.
Albert is survived by his wife of 5 years, Barbara A Andrews from Sebastian, Florida; his children Christopher VanDerveer, Alicia (Dave) Ashenfarb, Diane (Edward) Alvey and Christian Johnson; and eight grandchildren Adam Ashenfarb, Aleyna Ashenfarb, Timothy Byrd, Ryan Alvey, Sydney Alvey, Melanie Byrd, Lindsay Alvey, and William Alvey. He was preceded in death by is son James VanDerveer.
Albert was an active member of the Vero Beach Rotary Club, and a military veteran of the United States Army. His hobbies included: skiing, fishing, and trading stocks.
Albert was a kind and gentle man and will be truly missed by all.
