Alberta Virginia "Twig" Reed, Barefoot Bay, Florida died peacefully at home on May 5, 2015.
Alberta Virginia Reed (nee: Williams) was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee on April 22, 1925. She attended local schools and graduated from Chattanooga High school. She moved to Barefoot Bay from Ercildoune Heights in Sebastian, FL. Twig recently celebrated her 90th birthday with friends and family at her bedside. The 1920's was the theme and everyone celebrated in a "roaring twenties" way! Family from Punta Gorda, FL, Davies, FL and Chattanooga, TN, as well as Brevard and Indian River friends came to visit and wish her a Happy 90th.
For many years, Twig volunteered at the Roseland Methodist Church Thrift Shop. She was known for the distinctively different hats she wore each week as she helped folks with their purchases.
Twig is pre-deceased by her husband Robert Reed, her daughter Connie McKnight Calahan (Chattanooga, TN), and her son Edgar McKnight (Barefoot Bay, FL). She is survived by her loving Grandsons Robin Nash and Mark Goble of Barefoot Bay, her Great-grandson Gunner Hicks, her nephew Gibby Gilbert (and Judy), her nieces Brenda Sue Matthewson (and Joe) and Debbie Nelson (and Kim), and her husband's nephew Jon Fosselman (and Kathy). She is also survived by a number of Grandneices and Grandnephews.
There will be no Memorial Service and a private interment will be held. Donations in memory of Alberta Virginia "Twig" Reed may be made to Hospice of Health First, 1900 Dairy Road, Melbourne, FL 32904
