Alice K Glatz, 94, passed away January 26, 2018 at Palm Garden of Vero Beach, FL.

Alice Glatz was born in Germany on May 9 ^th , 1923 and came to United States in 1958.  She resided in Philadelphia, PA from 1958 to 1997 then onto Rockville, MD thru 2013 to her current residency in Vero Beach, FL.  She retired from Alco Standard Corporation formerly Garrett Buchanan in 1987.

She is survived by her 3 children, daughter Gabriele Leipert and late husband Thomas of Sebastian, FL; son Martin Glatz and wife Aurora and 2 grandchildren, Joseph and William of Rockville, MD; and daughter Angelika (Gail) Whippen and husband David of Norton, MA.

During Alice's lifetime she survived several courageous feats, the most courageous being after World War II, when she crossed the border during the middle of the night from East to West Germany, before the Berlin Wall existed then onto the United States of America.

A prayer service will be held at Seawinds Funeral Home, 735 S. Fleming Street, Sebastian, FL 32958, Friday, February 2, 2018 at 2:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to the VNA & Hospice Foundation, 1110 35th Lane, Vero Beach, FL 32960.

Alice will always be remembered for joy of life and how she brought joy and laughter to everyone that was lucky enough to be part of it.
