Tony Macaluso, 82, originally from Chicago but in recent years of Sebastian, Florida, died February 21, 2025. A celebration of life will be held in the Park Place Community Clubhouse in Sebastian, Florida on Saturday, March 29th from 2pm to 4pm. Tony was born on August 3, 1942 in Chicago the son of John Macaluso and Gloria (formerly Fliris). His family background was a mix of Italian (Sicily), Greek, French Canadian and a dash of Native American. He grew up in Chicago and spent several years growing up in North Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. In 1969 he married Mary Ann Sonnenberg. He then began to work as a salesman. In the early 1970s his two sons Tony and Dan were born. They moved out to the Chicago suburb of Streamwood where Tony and Mary Ann built a strong and fun-loving group of friends and he became involved in community life, coaching sports and organizing many activities. In 1980 he started his own company named Elton that sold janitorial supplies and grew rapidly. He enjoyed travel, making many epic road trips across the United States and later to Italy, Greece, England, France, Germany, the Caribbean and China. He bought a second home in Palm Desert, California, retired in 1999, and eventually relocated to Sebastian, Florida in 2017 where he enjoyed exploring the local landscape, developed a passion for pirates, and played a big part in organizing community activities. He is survived by his ex-wife Mary Ann, sons Tony and Dan, sister Rose, daughter-in-law Glenda, grandson Giulio, a number of nieces and nephews, many cousins and a wide circle of friends. In addition to the celebration in Sebastian, Florida, there will be a second memorial in the Chicago area on August 9th.
