Arthur E. Rose, age 81, of Sebastian, Florida, passed away peacefully at home with his loving family at his side on July 16, 2015. He was born on October 30, 1933 to Edward Arthur Rose and Catherine Wood.

Mr. Rose served in the National Guard from 1951-1952. he retired as Deputy Chief of the Arlington Fire District, a life member of Arlington Engine Company I, Town of Poughkeepsie, New York. Mr. Rose organized and served as First President of Local 2393 Arlington Professional Firefighters.

Arthur was predeceased by his brother William Rose and sisters Eleanor Parker, Alice Bogad, and Vivian Angelo.

On May 13, 1951, he married Dolores Jean Lysko, the love if his life for 65 years. Mrs. Rose survives at home. Additional survivors include children Jeffrey (Carroll) Rose; Mary Rose (Donald) Rebaglia; Patrick (Dia) Rose; Edward (Cristy) Rose; Suzzanne (Michael) Kovar; and Thomas (Jill) Rose. Arthur was loving "Poppy" to 15 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

Calling Hours are scheduled for Thursday, July 30, 2015 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Doyle Funeral Home, 371 Hooker Ave, Poughkeepsie, NY 12603 with a Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, 775 Main Street, Poughkeepsie, NY 12603 on Friday, July 31, 2015 at 10 am. Interment will follow at the convenience of the family.
