Audrey Ann (Hogan) Saxon was born on November 7th, 1952 (72). Audrey was a lifetime resident of Vero Beach, FL and died on January 14th at her daughter's home following a long illness that stemmed from a severe car accident in 1990 when she was just 38. The accident would have killed most individuals, but after nearly a year in a coma, Audrey survived and had to relearn how to care for herself and live independently.

Audrey was quick witted and feisty like her mother, Betty. She inherited her wild ringlet curls, steely blue eyes, green thumb and tough as nails personality from her father Ray. She loved gardening (prized staghorn ferns), dogs (precious little Bogey), and cooking southern cuisine for her family and friends.   Audrey graduated from Vero Beach High School where she was on the golf team and homecoming court. After graduation, she attended Mercer University before marrying her high school sweetheart and raising their two children while working part time at DuBose Jewelry (old 14thAve location) and later as a preschool teacher. She was also a trustee of Hogan and Associates Citrus.

Audrey is preceded in death by her parents, Chester "Ray" Hogan and Elizabeth Lamb Graves Hogan (Betty). She is survived by her children Amy and (Bryan) Chisholm and John Saxon along with her grandchildren, Austin Harrelson, Sophie Chisholm, Zack Chisholm, John (J. D.)Saxon, Tucker Saxon, and James Saxon. She is also survived by her siblings and their grown children, Chet and (Michelle) Hogan, Ned and (Dianne) Hogan, Mike and (Jana) Hogan, Mason and (Hope) Hogan, and Jan and (Sam) Pratt.

In lieu of flowers, a donation in Audrey's name to H.A.L.O. no kill animal rescue would be greatly appreciated. Helping Animals Heal and Overcome is a wonderful way to remember Audrey.

A celebration of Audrey's life will be held on Saturday, February 22nd at Amy and Bryan Chisholm's family farm 13685 87th St. Fellsmere, Fl. at 1:00 in the afternoon.
