Barbara Bennett Miller, loving and devoted wife of James Vedder Miller, died peacefully at home on February 11, 2014. Barbara was born on October 7, 1929 in Charleston West Virginia the only daughter of Maxine and Rubert Bennett although she had a brother named Edwin.Her parents and her brother both preceded her in death.Barbara was a graduate of Miss Hickey's secretarial school in Missouri in 1952 and became a secretary in the stock brokerage field. Barbara met Jim, fell madly in love and they were married in New York on June 12th 1955. Their first child was born in 1958 and they named her Judy. Barbara bore Jim a son in 1960 and they named him Edwin after her late brother.They raised their two children in West Islip Long Island New York for 10 years before she could talk him in to moving to Florida! In Florida she became a very successful real estate broker and opened and managed many different offices. She was a member of the Board of Realtors in Orlando and Sebastian as well as a licensed contractor. She and Jim had a construction company in Orlando Florida where they worked together for many years. In 1989 they moved to Sebastian Florida and had 23 blessed years together with their many friends and neighbors. They truly enjoyed their time together in Sebastian along the water visiting with their friends.They built a beautiful home in a lovely neighborhood where they were blessed with wonderful loving neighbors. They enjoyed manyfamily dinners with their childrenEddie and Judy both of whom live in Hobe Sound Florida and their only grandchild, Jaret James, the son of their daughter Judy and her husband Matt. They became official snowbirds living in Shelter Island, New York in the summer where they have family and friends, and Sebastian Florida in the winter. Barbara and Jim where lucky to enjoy 58 devoted, lovingyears together.Barbara was a wonderful and caring mother, wife and friend and she will be missed by all those that knew and loved her.
