IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Barbara Ann
Sviben
September 8, 1941 – December 31, 2020
Barbara Sviben (nee Doughty), 79, Micco, Florida passed away peacefully on December 31, 2020 surrounded by her family at home.
She was born in Camden, New Jersey on September 8, 1941 to her late adoptive parents George and Frances Doughty. She graduated Woodrow Wilson High School in 1957. She married Lawrence Sviben III on October 1, 1960.
Barbara had a variety of jobs including working at Curtis Publishing Company in Philadelphia in her early years, a job she loved. She then went on to have three children and became a homemaker. When her children were older she got involved in racehorses and worked at several stables and had her own racehorses. After her career in racehorses she started a cleaning business until she retired and moved to Florida to be near her sisters.
"Mom Mom" loved her family and often bragged about her children and grandchildren. She was excited that she had her first great grandchild. She had a great sense of humor, quick witted, artistic and loved by those around her. Barbara loved all animals, spending time with her family and the beach. She always told her children not to answer the phone on our birthdays so she could sing Happy Birthday to us in a voice mail. She will be sorely missed by all those around her as she was special to all of us in some way, shape or form.
She is predeceased by her son Lawrence Sviben IV, her brother Scott Doughty and her granddaughter Mary Beth Sviben. Barbara is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Sviben of Sebastian, FL; son Matthew Sviben of Micco, FL; sister Caroline Moy and husband James of Micco, FL; sister Minnie Bolon of Micco, FL; brother George Doughty of Del Haven, NJ; grandson Tyler Comisky and wife Kasia of Malvern, PA, granddaughter Miranda Comisky of Denver, CO; grandson Joshua Sviben of Murray, Kentucky; great grandson Alexander Comisky of Malvern, PA and Tina Sviben of Medford, NJ. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
