Carmen Elizabeth Wilson of Sebastian, Florida, a caring wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend passed away after a brief hospice stay on Tuesday May 31, 2022.

She was born in Brown's Town, Saint Ann, Jamaica on March 20, 1931, to parents Hubert and Edna Gordon. She was raised and educated in Jamaica where she pursued small business ventures before working as a stenographer and then a telephone operator for Jamaica Citrus Growers.

She immigrated to the United States in the late 1960s where she worked in the medical field in Massachusetts and then Connecticut until retirement. She moved to Sebastian Florida with her husband in 1980s. While in good health, she enjoyed helping the elderly and sick. She also loved gardening, cooking, and baking, particularly her famous Jamaican black cake. Most recently, she was a member of the Sebastian United Methodist Church.

Carmen is pre-deceased by her husband of 50 years Roy N Wilson, her son-in-law Douglas Francois, and her grandson Nyger Francois. She is survived by five children, Veronica Francois (Douglas) and Dennis Evans Jr., both of Sebastian FL; Marjorie Wilson of Manchester, CT; Trevor Wilson of Jamaica, WI; and Jacqueline Wilson Hogan (Greg) of Meriden, CT. She also leaves behind three grandchildren, Christopher Francois, Lorraine Wilson English, and Savannah Hogan, two great- grandchildren Camrin and Caydin Francois, and a host of relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held Friday June 10, 2022, 1:00 PM, at the Treasure Coast Seawinds Funeral Home.
