Catherine Helen Ackerman, 96, passed away May 21, 2023. She was the widow of Donald Ackerman.

Born in Bridport, VT, she was preceded in death by her parents, John and Maud Stokes.

She was employed as a ward clerk in hospitals in Pompano Beach, and moved to Sebastian after retiring. She loved life, traveling, cooking, and was very artistic, producing lovely paintings and beautiful quilts. Cathay was active and spunky. She was a member of the Italian American club of Sebastian, an auxiliary lifetime member of VFW Post 10210, and was an Eldoe at Elks Lodge #2714, where she enjoyed playing in the Billiards League.

Being a devout catholic, she derived great comfort from the mass at St. Sebastian church, and could often be spotted in the front row.

She is survived by her niece Sandra Crouse of WV, along with several other nieces and nephews.

She is now at peace with her loved ones and the Lord.
