Catherine Joan Grimaldi Bastone, 85 years old, went to heaven on Wednesday, March 3rd, 2021, the day of her father, Mike Grimaldi's birthday, where he greeted her and her mother  Anna, kissed her with open arms in heaven.

She was born in Brooklyn, New York on January 17th, 1936, to the late Michael Louis & Anna Julia Grimaldi.

Catherine enjoyed her childhood in Jamaica, Queens, New York and being the big sister to her brothers and her deceased baby sister, Patricia.

She graduated from "The Mary Louis Academy" private school in Queens, New York.

With a smile that lit the room and personality that was brighter than the sun, Catherine was a waitress and hostess with the mostess.  She and her husband Robert Spates also owned a delicatessen.

She was the strongest, most hard working and inspiring woman ever met.  She loved animals, playing the piano, cooking, feeding people, and laughing.  If you had the chance to meet and speak with her you always felt uplifted; she was loved by many.

She is survived by her son, Anthony Bastone, Sr. (Gloria Bocchino); grandson, Anthony Bastone, Jr.; new grandbaby, Elena Charlie; her brothers, Anthoney & Michael Grimaldi; 26 nieces and nephews;  former daughter-in-law & mother of Anthony, Jr., Anna Felicia Mateo; and many other loving family & friends.

She was the best mother a son could ask for.

She was the first, my last, my everything.

Funeral services will be Saturday, March 13th, 1:00pm at Seawinds Funeral Home chapel. Followed by interment in Winter Beach Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to services at 12:00pm.
