Catherine Skillman's Obituary
Catherine (Mary) Skillman, 76, passed away at home after a long and courageous battle with cancer, her loving family by her side.
Mary was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was born and raised in Cape Broyle, Newfoundland, Canada. After graduating from high school she went on to work as a candy-striper at General Hospital in Saint Johns, Newfoundland, where she also earned her LPN. She met the love of her life William F. Skillman and soon after moved to the United States, married and settled in Belford, New Jersey for 39 years, where she was employed at Riverview Hospital in Red Bank, New Jersey. Upon retiring Mary and William moved to Sebastian, Florida, where they have lived for the past 15 years.
She was a member of Sebastian Catholic Church with numerous hours of volunteering. She was also a member of the Eastern Stars.
There was not one person that Mary met who wasn't touched in one way or another by her tremendous heart and bright smile. She was loved by all.
Mary was predeceased by her loving parents, John and Maude Coady; her brother Thomas Coady; and her mother-in-law and father-in-law Clarence and Mildred Skillman.
Mary is survived by her beloved, loving husband of 55 years William F. Skillman of Sebastian, FL; her adoring son and daughter-in-law William R. and Katherine Skillman of Belford, NJ; her only granddaughter whom she adored, Emilee C Skillman of Belford, NJ; brothers Bernard Coady and his wife, Carmel of Newfoundland, CA, and John Coady and his wife, Mary also of Newfoundland, CA; sisters Chloe Coffin and her husband, Sam of Oklahoma, Rose Burgess of California, Sandy Contraraus and her husband, Mike of Tennessee, Jenny Crocker and her husband, Paul of Newfoundland, CA, Francis Kenney and husband, Tom of Newfoundland, CA, Katherine Coady of Newfoundland, CA, Paula Caraue of Newfoundland, CA, and Norma Greene and her husband, Gerard of Newfoundland, CA; and all her nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life may be scheduled at a later date.
