Charles William Jones, 73, of Sebastian, passed away on May 6, 2014 at his home. Born in Millerton, NY, he attended State High School in New Haven, CT and received an Honorable Discharge from the National Guard where he served his country as a Private First Class. Charles attended the University of New Haven and worked as a shipping manager until his retirement.
Predeceased by his parents, Goldie Charles and Mabel Jones, and brothers, Edward and Edwin Carlson, and his sister, Shirley Iannucci.

He is survived by his wife Nancy (Handel) Jones, Son Charles W. Jones, Jr., Daughter Rachel Jones, Son Robert G. Jones, Sr., Daughter Diana Jones, Daughter Elizabeth & Son-in-law Thomas Heal Jr., Daughter Lynette & Son-in-law David J. Andrzejewski, and Daughter Tamara & Son-in-law Roland Richard. Charles also leaves his beloved grandchildren, Charles W. Jones III, Jessica Jones, Michael Streeto, Angela Jones, Jennifer Jones, Christina Jones, Joseph Jones, Robert G. Jones, Jr, Halie Dorsa, Christopher Karpinski, Jr, Amanda Tupko, Nicole Heal, Ashlee-Anne Knudson, David Andrzejewski, Theresa Andrzejewski, Sophia Andrzejewski, Alexandrea Grestini, Giavanna Grestini, and Nanci Richard, and great-grandchildren, Annamarie, Kayla, Julianna, Anthony, Charlotte, and Adalyn; his sister, Dorothy Plunske and his brother, Robert Carlson.

Those who knew him best recall he had a passion for music, sharing a smile and spreading kindness to all he encountered and most of all sharing his love of family. As a teenager he sang in his school chorus and recorded a solo version of Frankie Laine's 1953 hit song "I Believe" which was played on the radio. Charles' passion for music continued throughout his life, especially listening to songs from the 1950's and instilling a passion for Doo-Wop in his home and while cruising in his car. Charles also had a passion for cooking his favorite meals, fishing, and he enjoyed reading, watching sports and following politics.

Services were held Saturday, May 10, 2014 at 1:00 PM at Seawinds Funeral Home in Sebastian.
