When you were born, an angel smiled as you became a child, an angel sat on your shoulder. When you became an adult, an angel held your hand. As you grew older, an angel waked the road with you. And when you died, an angel got their wings.

Chester "Chett" (as he liked to be called) Piorkowski was a wonderful husband, my best friend, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was called to Heaven on December 28, 2020. Chett was born in Enfield, CT on Christmas Day in 1928.

Chett was a member of the United States Air Force as a clerk of Engineering and 10 ^th Air-Sea Rescue. After his tour with the Air Force, he was an Aircraft Firefighter for the Department of Transportation-Aeronautics-Bradley International Airport, Windsor Locks, CT for Thirty-one and a half years retiring in 1988.

Chett and his wife Pat, whom he married in 1986 moved to Barefoot Bay, FL in 1989. He played softball and bowled his entire life never stopping until his death at the age of 92. He always had a smile and enjoyed life.

He leaves behind a legacy which touched so many people with his dynamic personality, humor, and beautiful smile. We will continue to laugh as we always laughed.

Chett was an angel among us who showed us how to live, taught us how to give and how to enjoy life. Although his journey has taken a new path, he will be forever in our hearts and will watch over us from above.

He is survived by his wife, Pat, 3 children, Patty Farrar, Gary & Grant Young, several grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and 2 brother's Raymond and Ernie.
