Clarence W. Barton, 86, of Sebastian, FL, passed away on Saturday, January 18, 2020, with his daughter, Jacqueline Bangos and a family friend, Nikki Sinicropi Sember by his side. A memorial service will be held on February 21, 2020, in Sebastian, FL, at the Seawinds Funeral Home, from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. Burial will be in Sampson Veteran Memorial Cemetery in Romulus, NY, at the convenience of the family.
If desired, donations may be made to VNA Hospice House, 901 37 th St., Vero Beach, FL 32960, in Clarence's name. The family would like to thank the VNA Hospice House for their compassionate and loving care.
Clarence was born on April 30, 1933, in Massena, NY, to Clarence and Iva Hardy Barton. He lived most of his life in Seneca Falls, NY. In September of 1952 he was drafted into the United States Army, where he served in the Korean War on a Ballistics Team and supervised the Message Center for 30 Company. After returning from the war, he was employed by Sylvania Electric in Seneca Falls, left there in 1962 and joined Alco in Auburn, NY, owned and operated Barton's Tavern/Restaurant in Seneca Falls, was an Electrician with IBEW construction, later employed by Austeel in Auburn, NY, as an Electrical Specialist, and Case-Hoyt Graphic Arts Printing Company in Rochester until 1985, at which time he relocated to Florida and fully retired in 1995.
He was a member of St. Sebastian Catholic Church and a life member the VFW's (Post 10210), American Legion (Post #39), Elks Lodge (#2714), Moose Club (#1767), the Sebastian Italian-American Club, Fraternal Order of Eagles and the Fraternal Order of Orioles Nest #272.
Clarence is survived by his children; Gary of CA, Dale (Cindy) of Fulton, NY, Lauri (Joseph) Nigro, Jr. of Seneca Falls, NY, Craig of FL, Jacqueline (George) Bangos of Indialantic, FL and a step-daughter, Lynn (Paul) Hudson of Rockledge, FL; 9 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren; sisters Iva Adle of Seneca Falls, NY and Carolyn (Larry) Amos of Waterloo, NY and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Clarence was predeceased by his first wife; Lillian Bloomer Barton, his second wife; Phyllis Condes Barton, a son, David Barton; a sister & brother-in-law, Alice and Howard Tierson; and a brother & sister-in-law, Raymond and Christine Barton.
