IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Constance “Connie”
Hainey (Née Whitty) Hainey
August 10, 1933 – October 19, 2025
Constance Hainey, lovingly known as "Connie," passed away peacefully at her home in Barefoot Bay, Florida, on October 19, 2025, at the age of 92. Born in Brooklyn, New York, to William and Gloria (Goodman) Whitty, she was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Hainey, her son, Michael Hainey, and her brother, William "Billy" Whitty, Jr.
Connie was the beloved matriarch of her family. She is survived by her children Daniel (Laurie) Hainey, Gloria (Jeffrey) Drake, Barbara (James) Kinnier, Robert Hainey, and Dawn (Elizabeth) Shortell; her daughter-in-law, Denise Hainey, the devoted wife of her late son Michael; 15 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. Each of them was blessed by her love, laughter, and unwavering support.
A woman of creativity, grace, and generosity, Connie had a lifelong passion for the arts. She attended Pratt Institute before working for her father's company, specializing in gold leafing, antiquing, and decorative painting techniques. She brought her creativity and love of life to everything she did — cooking, baking, painting in bright colors and flowers, playing games, traveling, and celebrating life with her family. She filled every moment with color, joy, and a sense of togetherness.
Above all, Connie was a woman of deep faith. She lived each day guided by the Lord, sharing love, devotion, and encouragement with everyone around her. She devoted her life to caring for others, and her steadfast faith was the foundation of her family's strength.
