Cynthia Ann (née Reiling) Taylor
Cynthia Ann “Cindy” (née Reiling) Taylor was born on April 24, 1952, in Sioux City, Iowa. She passed peacefully in her sleep at home on September 12, 2026. She was preceded in death by her parents, Janet Reiling and Leland Reiling; her biological father, Charles Westbrook; her brother, Douglas; her grandmother, Nellie Hintz; and her half-brother, Wesley Westbrook.
She is survived by her loving sons, Chad Taylor of Franklin, North Carolina and Trevor Taylor of Sebastian, Florida; grandsons, Chad Taylor Jr. (Taylor) and Chase Taylor; great-grandson, Brooks; sisters, Vickie Reiling, JoAnn Fais, and Paula Kasnick; half-brothers, Ward and Walton Westbrook; and sister-in-law, Diane Gonzales, with whom she shared a close bond. She is also survived by her nephew, Randy Reiling (Amber) along with many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and one great-great-nephew. Cindy was considered a second mother by many of her sons’ friends, who lovingly called her “Mom.” She was also blessed with many dear and lifelong friends, including MaryAnn, who was by her side shortly before her passing.
Cindy had an adventurous and active spirit and enjoyed skating and playing soccer earlier in her life. She also loved her furry and feathered companions, several of whom were rescues. No animal that crossed her path went without love, food, or care; there was always room in her heart and home for another critter, whether large or small, furry or feathered.
Cindy was a hard worker and ran a cleaning business until her retirement. Her work and the clients she cared for kept her busy, and she took pride in serving them well. As she grew older, she continually battled the symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis, yet she remained determined to stay active. She found great joy in gardening and caring for her many plants. Cindy truly had a green thumb.
Cindy will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all whose lives she touched. Family and loved ones are invited to gather in remembrance of Cindy, share cherished memories, and celebrate her life on September 26, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. The gathering will be held at the home of her son Trevor, 433 Mark Street, Sebastian, Florida.
Cindy’s family finds comfort in knowing that, after a life marked by perseverance, kindness, and devotion to others, she is now at rest. They are especially comforted by the words of Matthew 11:28:
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
