Daisy M. Mitchell

Daisy May (Small) Mitchell, 74, of Micco, formerly of Foxborough and Norwood, Massachusetts, died Tuesday June 22nd at William Childs Hospice House with family by her side.

Born March 4,1947 in Bangor, Maine to the late Herbert and Cecelia Small. She is predeceased by her loving husband Gary C. Mitchell. She is survived by her children Charles and Simone Mitchell of Yukon, Oklahoma, Scott Mitchell of North Attleboro, MA. and Tammy and Doug Davis of Mansfield, MA. She is also survived by her grandchildren Adrienne, Lily, Amber, Ryan, and Cecelia who were her greatest joy.

The youngest of three children, she is predeceased by her brother Eugene. She is survived by her brother Herbert Small of Swanville, ME., and her sister-in-law Jeanne Holmes of Swanville, ME. She is also survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews. A special mention to her cousin and lifelong friend Sandra Pilleri.

Daisy fought a brave battle with Parkinsons over the past eleven years and she faced her diagnosis with dignity and courage, refusing to let each new stage as her progressed illness keep her from enjoying life. Her strength and determination was admired by all who saw the obstacles she faced each day.

Daisy reunites with her devoted husband Gary, whose passing less than 2 months prior left her heartbroken and lost. True soulmates and so connected at the heart, one could not survive without the other. Married 55 years, they first met at the ages of nine and ten and later began dating in high school. They married soon after graduation and so began a love story like no other. This is not the end of their story, as it will live on in the hearts of everyone who knew and loved this amazing couple.

Daisy will be so missed by all who knew her, but especially by her children and grandchildren. There is an emptiness that will forever remain in our lives without you here, Daisy. We will love you and miss you everyday and try to live up to the example you set for us everyday of your life.

A memorial service is being planned for August with details to follow. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations in Daisy's name be made to the William Childs Hospice House in Palm Bay, Florida for their exemplary care of Daisy and her children in her final days.
