Daniel A. Ortone, 93, passed away on November 27th, 2022 , in Palm Bay , Florida.

He was the loving husband of Arlene Ortone. They shared 66 years of marriage together.

Born in Newburgh, New York, he was the son of Anthony Ortone and Martha Mattson Ortone . He attended Newburgh F ree Academy. After high school he served in the Army Air Force for 3 years.

He was an entrepreneur and had varied careers in sales. After retiring as a loan officer, Dan worked as a boat captain on the Commander giving tours on the Hudson River.

He was a life member of the American Legion. He was also a member of various clubs in the Barefoot Bay community: The Bocce Club, The New York Club, and The Italian Club. Dan was very proud of his Italian heritage and enjoyed studying the Italian language. In addition, he enjoyed ham radio (WA2ESR) , playing the piano and organ , as well as traveling, riding his motorcycle, and reading.

Dan had a wonderful sense of humor, made friends easily and was a very loving father and grandpa . He was happiest when entertaining friend s and family .

He is survived by his wife Arlene Ortone; his children: Daniel "Andy" Ortone Jr., Linda Van Keuren, and Catherine "Cathy" Lachiver (Rich); his five Granddaughters; his seven great grandchildren; his brother Edward Ortone (Mary); and many nieces, nephews , and cousins.

He was predeceased by his parents and infant sister.
