David Mills Ahlquist, 85 of Sebastian, Florida and formerly of Warwick, Rhode Island, passed away on February 3, 2024 in Sebastian, Florida. He was born in Providence, RI to Arthur and Helen Mills Ahlquist.

David attended Delehanty Institute where he earned a Certificate in Fire Services and graduated from Roger Williams University, obtaining a Bachelors Degree in Public Administration and Fire Services. David retired as Battalion Fire Chief of the Warwick Fire Department.

A former Marine, he was a talented artist and toolmaker who enjoyed traveling, art projects, playing cards and socializing with friends. He will be remembered for his kindness, creativity and sense of humor.

He is survived by his loving wife Janice, and they shared 41 years of marriage together. David is also survived by his children, Brian, Mark and Steven, all of Rhode Island and 10 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sibling, John, Arthur, Carl and Claire.

A Gathering of family and friends will be on Monday, February 26, 2024 from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM followed by a Celebration of David's life at Seawinds Funeral Home, 735 S Fleming Street, Sebastian, FL. Interment will follow at Sebastian City Cemetery.
