David Augustus Sheats, 85, lost his battle with cancer on February 7, 2023 at the VNA Hospice House in Vero Beach, Florida. He was the husband of Barbara Logullo. They shared 40 wonderful years together.

Born on February 14, 1937 in Kirkwood, Delaware, he was the son of Elsie Saxton and Walter Sheats. He retired from Newcastle County Environmental Services as a superintendent.

David loved fishing, being outdoors, and was very athletic. He could fix practically anything; he was the best handyman, a true craftsman. He was a funny and friendly guy that became friends with everyone that he met. David was also witty, honorable, true to his word, loved to talk and tell stories to anyone who would listen.

He is survived by his wife Barbara Logullo; his children: Michael Sheats, Steve Sheats, and Pam Willoughby; his stepchildren: Debbie McGhee, Jim Logullo, and Mike Logullo; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. He is predeceased by his parents and his son Jeri.

He will be greatly missed.
