Mr. Dominick A. Prudenti, "Big Dom – Big Daddio" died peacefully in Indian River Medical Center on April 16, 2018 surrounded by his family, in Vero Beach, Florida at the age of 80.
Dominick is survived by his wife of 59 years, Adele, children: Tina, Dominick, Anthony and Angela and daughter in law, Liz and son in law Ray. As well his sister Rosie. He loved his five grandchildren: Anthony, Brandon, A.J., Megan and Cathryn. He is preceded in death by his parents Alex and Philomena.
Dominick was born on February 24, 1938 in Bronx, New York. He graduated from Samuel Gompers High School in 1956 and served in the United States Army for 3 years. After being honorably discharged he married the love of his life "ADELE" in 1959. He resided in New York until moving to Vero Beach, Florida in 2004. He began his own company "D and A Trucking" until he started his 20-year career for Continental Bakery Company, the "Twinkie Company". After retirement he become a well-respected and honored umpire for youth, high school and college leagues and officiated football, volleyball and swimming events.
When he wasn't playing with his dog Rusty, watching game shows, playing cards on his computer he would be driving his wife crazy. Over the past year he become less active due to his medical conditions and was unable to enjoy life to the fullest. He enjoyed his family and was a big part of his grandchildren's lives.
The viewing is scheduled Thursday, April 19, 2018 from 4-7 p.m. at Seawinds Funeral Parlor, 735 S. Fleming Street Sebastian, FL. The funeral is scheduled for Friday, April 20, 2018 at St. Sebastian Church at 11 a.m. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Dominick's life. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital in his memory.
