Donald E. Pinder, Sr., 86, passed away Monday, January 29, 2018 in Sebastian, Florida. Donald was born August 1,1931 in Miami, Florida, the youngest of 3 children. He graduated from Miami Jackson High School.

Donald worked in the circulation departments for the Miami News, Coral Gables Times and Miami Herald. In 1974, Donald, and his wife Ellen, moved to Grassy Key. They owned and operated Pinder's Motel and Shell Shop, until they moved to Sebastian in 1987. Pinder's Pet Shop was opened soon after they moved.

Donald was a lifetime member of many of Sebastian's Clubs – Eagles, Italian American, Moose, Orioles and VFW.  The Orioles Club was created in his own garage. Along with various roles in all the clubs, he was proud to be the Treasurer, as an Auxiliary Member of the VFW.

Many of his friends simply called him Pinder or Don, but everyone thought him to be a one-of-kind character. He owned a wore a wide assortment of crazy hats and will be missed by many.

Donald is survived by his daughter, Donna Bonnell (Jeff); daughter, Sandy Hansen (Mark); son Don Pinder, Jr.; four grandchildren, Jeffrey Bonnell, Jr., Loni Brang; and Chad and Brian Hansen; great-grandchildren, Lexi Bonnell and Owen Brang.

Donald was preceded in death by two wives – Ellen of 35 years and Samantha of 20 years; his parents; a brother, Jack Pinder; a sister, Madgell; and one grandchild, Shane Hansen.

Immediately following service, a celebration of life will be held at the Orioles in Micco. A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
