Donald R. Scott went to be with his Lord on Monday, January 30, 2017 at 91 years old. He was born June 30, 1925 in Shawano, Wisconsin to Thomas and Gladys Scott. Donald gradated from Clintonville High School in 1943, where he played football and basketball. He was the captain of the basketball team and also Senior Class President.
In May of 1943 Donald entered into the Navy and trained as a Bombardier on PB4Y's, the Navy's version of the B-24, and later flew in the PB-4Y2. He was a member of the Navy's Blue Raider Squadron. While stationed on Mindoro in the Philippines' he successfully completed 25 missions flying over French Indo China, now Vietnam. Donald received 6 Air Medals and the Distinguished Flying Cross, plus other area medals.
Donald married Maxine Ann Quade on December 27, 1950 and had four children, Debora, Michael, Gregg and David. They were married for a wonderful 59 years before her passing on June 9, 2010. Donald later married Kathleen Daughtry on February 15, 2013, who he met in college in 1948. They were married for a wonderful three years.
Family and friends will honor and celebrate Donald's life by gathering for a Memorial Service at St. Elizabeth Episcopal Church, 901 Clearmont St, Sebastian, FL 32958, on Friday, February 17, 2017 at 11:00am. A reception will follow the memorial service in the church's Chapel Hall.
