Donald R Smithmyer Sr, age 88 of Sebastian, FL passed away peacefully at home after an extended illness on January 10, 2025.

Donald was born in Altoona, Pennsylvania on January 24, 1936, to Walter and Nellie Smithmyer. He married Mary C Wills on September 1, 1955, and they relocated to Sebastian, FL and resided there for 40 years.

Donald is survived by his wife Mary, children Daniel, Donald, Dennis, Debra, Dana and Dean; sister, Janet Gaham; He was the proud grandfather of 14 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and was preceded in death by parents, siblings Marion, Alma, Pete, Mary Lou, Jack and Ann.

His greatest joys in life included spending time with his family, watching sports, listening to music and telling "Dad jokes". He was a member of St. Sebastian Catholic Church and played on Barefoot Bay Softball Teams for many years. He was known by his family to be charitable, without seeking praise or recognition and a Jack of All Trades.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, January 17, 2025 at 11:00 AM. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 AM at St. Sebastian Catholic Church in Sebastian.
