On Wednesday, December 13th, Dorothy Irene Knowles, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away. She was eighty-nine years old. Born to Felix and Helen Jurkiewicz, she spent most of her life in Miami, Florida where she went to school and worked as a telephone operator before meeting and marrying the man of her life, Gerard Knowles.  They were together for sixty-three years before her husband's unexpected passing in 2018. During their long marriage they raised 6 children, born in an eight-year period at the beginning of their life together.

Their life centered around raising their children, encouraging them to be good, honest, hardworking, upstanding individuals, while also starting and growing a family business that operated through three generations.   Dot enjoyed bowling, reading, playing games, and learning computer skills that kept her up on all current events.  Through the years her family grew; after her 6 children came 16 grandchildren, and then 11 great-grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by two of her children and her spouse.

A  Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 19th at Seawinds Funeral Home at 735 South Fleming Street, Sebastian, FL, 32958. Visitation will begin at 1:00pm with a Memorial Service following at 2:00pm.  A Celebration of Life will follow at 3:30pm at the pool house of the Inlet at Sebastian condominiums.

Dorothy and Gerard will be interred together on Wednesday, December 20th at the Cape Canaveral National Cemetery, Rockledge, FL, at 11:00am.
