Obituary

Edward Keeley, 83, of Barefoot Bay, FL, passed away suddenly on November 14, 2021. Ed was born in Joliet, IL on October 11, 1938 to Edward Keeley and Lois Rumple.

Ed met and married Judith Erickson and was he r loving and devoted husband for until she passed away in 1999. Together they lived in Illinois , and had 2 children Cathi (Hall) and Edward Keeley. The family moved to Midlothian, VA in 19 80 and was active in their new communi ty . Ed was a proud veteran of the U nited States Air Force, and was able to transition to civilian service a s an employee of the Defense General Supply Center in Richmond, VA. Ed retired at 55, and he and Judith immediately escaped the threat of snow by moving to Barefoot Bay, FL.

Ed was an active member of the Barefoot Bay community and made a friend of anyone who crossed his path. He was an active and dedicated member at Community Baptist Church. He made sure the Church food pantry was always well stocked and loved being a part of the Church family. Ed was a "community chauffeur" for those who needed assistance getting to medical appointments or running errands, and also spent many years volunteering at Sebastien River Medical Center.

Ed was a man who was always on the go. He was constantly searching for his next travel adventure, whether local or somewhere else in the world. He loved going on cruises, and really enjoyed the Caribbean islands. Ed developed a deep passion for golf, and could be found at "the office" several times a week with his close friends and fellow duffers. Of course, h e made sure to always leave time for his daily 2pm card games with friends and neighbors .

Ed is survived by his children; Cathi Hall (Ken) and Edward Keeley (Sandy). In addition, he is survived by his 3 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at Community Baptist Church on Wednesday, December 8 th at 11am. The service will also be live streamed on CBC's YouTube channel for th ose unable to attend in person: https://m.youtube.com/channel/UCxyyZbYyJSqdTLbh3KDYkpw
