Effie VanDien Nagelhout
Effie VanDien Nagelhout passed away at home surrounded by her family on September 25, 2015 in Sebastian, Fl at the age of 88.
Effie was born November 16, 1926 in Ridgewood, NJ. She was an active member of Christ Church in Ridgewood, NJ. Effie worked as a Medical Receptionist for years at Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, NJ, and later for Dr. William Pruden's Dental Office in Ho Ho Kus, NJ.
She is survived by her daughters, Laura Saal, Jana Pruden (Barrie), Kim Lubarsky (Alex); three grandchildren, William J. Saal, Juliana Saal, and Dra Lubarsky; and her brother Russell VanDien of Micco, FL. She was preceded in death by her husband, John L. Nagelhout; her son Drew Douglas Nagelhout; her parents Russell and Sue (Flood) VanDien; and her sisters, Suzanne VanDien Schoolcraft, and Laura VanDien Casey.
Effie, John and all four children were graduates of Ridgewood High School.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, October 3, 2015 at Friendship Christian Community Church, 611 Schuman Drive, Sebastian, FL, Rev, Ron Thomas officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, and The Boys and Girls Club of Indian River County, Florida.
