Elwood "Giff" Gifford, 87, of Sebastian, FL died Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at his home.
Mr. Gifford was born December 22, 1924 in Gloversville, NY and moved to Sebastian 12 years ago coming from Lake Worth, FL.
He worked for The City of Lake Worth as the Print Shop Supervisor prior to his retirement. Mr. Gifford is a veteran of WW II, serving in the US Army Air Corp in the China-Burma-India Theatre. He was a member of the Ancient Order of Foresters and a volunteer fireman in New York; a member of the American Legion Post 39 of Vero Beach, FL, a member of the Sebastian River Medical Center Auxiliary and an avid golfer and hunter.
Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Eleanor Gifford; daughters Linda Boyington of Vero Beach, FL and Debbie (Ralph) McLeod of Albertville, MN; sister Ruth Gilbert of Live Oak, FL; five grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and a great great-grandchild.
Memorial contributions may be made to the VNA/Hospice Foundation, 1110 35th Lane, Vero Beach, FL 32960.
Service: A Celebration of Life Memorial will begin at 2 PM, Sunday, June 10, 2012 at the Seawinds Funeral Home in Sebastian.
Arrangements are under the direction of Seawinds Funeral Home & Crematory, Sebastian, FL.
