Eugene F. Summers, Sr. 75, of Sebastian, FL passed away August 26, 2018.

Gene was born on October 24, 1942 in Terre Haute, IN to Gene and Alma (Biewend) Summers.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Dianne K. (Crombie) Summers of Sebastian, FL; five children, Eugene F. Summers, Jr. of Vero Beach, FL, Ronald Summers (Arrita) of Dickson, TN, Tammy Sills of Clarksville, TN, Tracey Ross (Steve) of Clarksville, TN, and Wendy (Hewitt) Riddle (Tim) of Harriman, TN; 13 grandchildren, Eric Summers, Samantha Summers Hart, RJ Summers, Megan Sills, Charley Summers Wiseman, Courtney Sills Tuttle, Jessica Sills Headley, Kailynn Ross, Roy Gene Ross, Matthew Riddle, Josh Riddle, Ben Riddle, and Hallie Riddle; and, eight great-grandchildren, Rain, Eli, Ellie, Elena, Ryleigh, Paisley, Lucas, and Emmett.

Gene lived in Dover, TN for 45 years before moving to Sebastian, FL where he resided for the past 8 years.  He began his career as a member of the Boilermaker Local #27 and retired from Babcock and Wilcox Construction Company after 35 years.  Gene served his country in the United States Air Force and was a member of the Masonic Lodge of West Terre Haute, IN No. 687, Scottish Rite 32° Al Menah Shrine of Nashville, and Elks Lodge in Sebastian, FL.  He was also an active member of Friendship Christian Community Church in Sebastian, FL.

Gene was a loving husband and was proud of his children and grandchildren.  His life centered around caring for his family.  His work took him to over 60 countries around the world and he enjoyed living life to the fullest.

He left this life surrounded by his wife and children.

Family and friends will honor and celebrate Gene's life by gathering for a Memorial Service at Friendship Christian Community Church, 611 Schumann Drive, Sebastian, FL 32958 on Saturday, September 1, 2018 at 11:00 am.

In lieu of flowers, donation a may be made to Shriners Children's Hospital or Friendship Christian Community Church, 611 Schumann Drive, Sebastian, FL.
