Evelyn Francis Tuttle Doney, 96 years old passed away on March 27, 2024 at Hidden Lakes Assisted Living Facility. Evelyn was born May 11, 1927, in Danville, Illinois to Fred and Nellie Tuttle. She graduated from Danville High School and attended Anderson College in Anderson Indiana. Evelyn was married to John R. Doney on September 22, 1946, and they had four children, Susan (Doney) Hickman, Bart J. Doney, Thomas Fred Doney, and Jeffrey John Doney.

She is predeceased by her husband Jack after 47 years of marriage, son Jeffrey Doney, grandson Brian Doney, and granddaughter, Traci (Hickman) Wilcox. She is survived by her daughter Susan (Richard) Hickman, sons Bart (Ranae Pettijohn) Doney and Thomas (Cynthia) Doney; daughter-in-law Sheila (Smith) Doney.

Evelyn lived a life full of passion and love for her family, God, and the outdoors. Her dedication to nurturing her garden, and spending time camping, boating, and shrimping with her husband exemplified her zest for life. Her love and passion was her involvement in the First Church of God in Danville IL. After retirement, Evelyn and Jack relocated to Florida and she transferred that love to Pathways Church in Vero Beach. She was very active in various ministries and cherished her church family. She treasured her several mission trips to Haiti where she taught girls how to sew and quilt.

Though she has passed away, her legacy lives on through her children, eight grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. We celebrate her life and the impact she made on those around her.

A Celebration of Life will be held on April 18, 2024, at 4:00 p.m. at Pathways Church of God located at 1105 58th Ave, Vero Beach, Florida 32966.
