Florence Barbara Hale, age 86 of Sebastian, FL, died suddenly on January 23, 2013 at Sebastian River Medical Center.
Florence was born February 10, 1926 and had been a resident of Sebastian for 30 years. She grew up in Coral Gables with her five brothers and sisters, and graduated from Coral Gables High and the University of Miami, cum laude. She raised her family in New Jersey before returning to Florida. She is survived by two sons, Sherwood Sumner and E. Scott Sumner, and was predeceased by her daughter Cynthia O'Neill. Also surviving are her brother, Steven Swearingen and sister, Lydia Cloutier, 9 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Florence will be forever remembered for her constant love, devotion and caring. Services are private. Please remember Florence with contributions to the Wounded Warriors Project.
