Florence Collins LaPorte, age 94, passed away peacefully at Angel Care Of Vero Beach, on Thursday, November 9, 2017.

Born November 1, 1923 in Yonkers, New York she grew up in New York, lived in Vermont and North Carolina before settling in Florida. She worked for Liberty Mutual Insurance Company in New York City for a short time after her marriage before becoming a full time homemaker. Florence was a longtime hospital volunteer in Burlington, Vermont as well as spending many years volunteering at Roseland United Methodist Church Thrift Shop in Roseland, Florida.

Survivors include her son George Richard LaPorte of Vero Beach, Florida and her daughter Barbara Horne of Sebastian, Florida as well as five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Florence was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, George.

The family will hold a private service at a later date.
