Gaetano J. Leone, 96, of Sebastian, died, Friday, January 1, 2021 with family by his side.

He was born to Mary and Leucio Leone in Long Beach, New York on September 19, 1924.  Gaetano graduated high school with a full scholarship to Lehigh Univ. in Pennsylania. He attended for about a year when World War II started and left school to enlist in the U. S. Army. He fought in Europe and received both the Purple Heart & Bronze Medal.
After the war, he worked for the United States Postal Service for 30 years, retiring in 1979.

He was married to the late Margaret Leone for almost 60 years. They moved from Long Island, New York to Sebastian, Florida in 2006.
Sadly, his beloved wife died shortly after moving here.
He joined St. Sebastian Church and was an active member of his church community.

He is survived by his children, Patricia Weider of Barefoot Bay, Florida and Rachel Leone of Hampstead, North Carolina. He is also survived by 3 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at 10 a.m. at St. Sebastian Church with burial immediately following at Sebastian Cemetery.
