In Loving Memory of George 'Marty' Martin Hall
July 22, 1946 – October 26, 2025

George Martin "Marty" Hall, age 79, of Sebastian, Florida, passed away peacefully at his residence on Sunday evening, October 26, 2025.  He was surrounded by his children, some grandchildren, and close family.  He was born on July 22, 1946, in Atlanta, Georgia, the son of James Hunter Hall and Phyliss Jakes Hall.

George is survived by his children, Michon Hall Mitchell (George) and George Martin Hall (Cynthia); his grandchildren, George Hunter Mitchell (Helen), Lucinda Mitchell Bland (Jay), Julianna Hall, and Eleanor Hall; and his sister, Karen Hall Wiley (Ron). He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 58 years, Roxie Parker Hall; his brother, James Hunter Hall II; and his sister, Lynn Hall Lloyd.

George grew up and spent most of his life in the Atlanta area. He met Roxie in seventh grade, and they married shortly after graduating from Murphy High School.  They raised their children in the Marietta/Kennesaw area.  Professionally, he was a Civil Engineer for Georgia Department of Transportation for 30 years and, after retiring, led the Cobb County Utilities Division for another eight years.

George's true passion was his family.  He lovingly cared for Roxie during her long illness and often said he was grateful that God gave him the honor of doing so. He deeply loved his children and made many sacrifices to ensure they were well-educated and prepared for fulfilling lives. He had a special bond with his grandchildren, particularly Hunter and Lucy, whom he and Roxie helped raise during their childhood; he spent countless hours with them, creating a uniquely loving and lasting relationship.  Once Hunter & Lucy graduated high school, he moved with Roxie to Sebastian to be near their younger grandchildren Julianna and Eleanor. George and Roxie had the joy of watching all four of their grandchildren grow up and create beautiful lives.

Since moving to Sebastian 12 years ago, George and Roxie built many lasting friendships, especially with Ellen and Rene Van De Voorde and their neighbors in Rivers Edge. George found fellowship at First Presbyterian Church of Sebastian, where Pastor Jeff Wood and the congregation welcomed him warmly. He also enjoyed camaraderie at the Sebastian American Legion Post 190, where he could often be found playing the slots or sharing a beer with friends. He loved cruising, especially with his family, having gone on nearly 100 cruises.

The family will hold a small, private graveside service but invites friends and loved ones to join them at George's home on Wednesday, October 29, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.
