George A LeFave, 93, of Barefoot Bay, FL, passed away peacefully on October 6, 2016. He was born to the late Ambrose and Marie Doucet on August 25, 1923 in Belleville, Nova Scotia. After graduating high school, George enlisted in the U.S. Army. He became a Sergeant and served in WWII from 1943 to 1945. He also received a Bronze Star Medal.
After the war, George was a carpenter by trade before becoming a Reading, MA Police Officer in 1950. He served on the force for 30 years before retiring to NH and FL. George was an expert marksman earning several awards after graduating form the Police Training School and Academy.
George loved to golf and fish in his spare time.
He is survived by his children Brian and his wife Kathy of Raleigh, NC, Michael R. LeFave of Boston and the late John P. LeFave and his wife Fran of Woburn, MA. He is also survived by his grandson Dana LeFave of Woburn, MA, ex-wife Elaine LeFave of The Villages, FL, and his brother Russell LeFave of Reading, MA.
