George Michael Lourenco, Sr., 61, passed away Friday, June 3, with his family at his side.
He was born in Pawtucket RI. on October, 25, 1954, but moved to Las Vegas, Nevada as a child and attended school there. He left school to join the Marine Corp in 1972 and served his country in Vietnam and as always a Marine.
George worked in construction as a welder and also in the automotive business in different capacities. He loved to support the military in any way he could. He was very creative and loved to make metal work and started making jewelry after his initial illness. His favorite activity was riding his BMW or any other motorcycle he could for long rides.
He is survived by a large and loving family that he loved very much including: his wife, Cathy of Sebastian Florida.; son, George and his family of Elko, Nevada; daughter, Jessica of Sebastian, Florida; siblings, Frank and wife Laura of Sebastian, Florida, Al and wife Donna of Idaho, Ron and family of Utah, Paul and family of Nevada, Tony and wife Chris of Nevada, Patricia and husband Gary Jones of Washington, Lisa Lourenco-Snipes of Nevada, Donna and husband Steve Young of California; nine grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was forever a family man and loved them all very much.
Family and friends will honor and celebrate George's life by gathering for a Memorial Service at Seawinds Funeral Home, 735 S Fleming Street, Sebastian, FL on Thursday, July 7, 2016 at 10:00am.
A Memorial Service will also be held in Las Vegas, on Saturday, July 16, 2016 from 1:00 to 4:00 pm at The Leatherneck Club Bar and Galley, 4360 W Spring Mountain Road, Las Vegas, NV 89102.
In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations be made to the VA Hospice Unit or VNA of Indian River County, or to any Veteran Charity of your choice.
