George Reid, 87, of Sebastian, passed away on Thursday, June 9, 2011, at home. George was born January 29, 1924 in Key West, FL, and has lived in Sebastian for the past 25 years, moving here from Hollywood, FL.
He was a US Army veteran, a retired Chief of Air Carrier Maintenance Inspection for the FAA in Miami, and a former Sebastian City Councilman. He belonged to St. Sebastian Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, and American Legion. He was a USCG licensed Captain and a former Chaplain of the Vero Beach Power Squadron.
Survivors include his daughter Pam Marshall of Sebastian, three sons, Chris Reid of Houston, TX, Kevin Reid of Orlando, FL, Bryan Reid of Cleveland, GA, eight grandchildren, and one great grandchild.Services will be held privately.
Memorial contributions may be made to the VNA Hospice House, 1111 36th St Vero Beach 32960.
