Gregory Kane (Harry), 68, of Sebastian, FL and formerly of Staten Island, NY, passed away peacefully on April 24, 2015 at Sebastian River Medical Center surrounded by his children, mother of his children Cathy Copertino, and lifelong friends Frank Diangelo, and Jerry Cividanes.
Greg grew up on Staten Island and joined the U.S. Army at a young age, earning the rank of SP5. He proudly and courageously served our country doing several tours in the Vietnam War. After he returned home he stepped up again and became a New York City Police office in which he later retired from. He was an avid NY Mets fan, NASCAR fan, Cowboy fan, hunter, fisherman, and a martini connoisseur. In 2013n Greg moved to Sebastian, FL to be closer to his children and grandchildren.
He was an amazing dad and is survived by his children Cheryl(Terry), James(Meaghan) and Tara and proud grandfather of Ashley, Louis, Jack, Kyle, Logan and Lennon and a beloved brother to Kevin, Keith, and Kerrie. He was preceded in death by his parents James and Gertrude Kane.
Greg touched the lives of countless people throughout the years with his witty sense of humor and will be remembered fondly and missed dearly by all.
A memorial service will take place Saturday May 9th, 2015 at 5:15 in Riverview Park, Sebastian, Fl near the 4 Chaplains Memorial followed by a celebration of life gathering at the Sebastian Yacht Club(All are welcome). He will be laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please send donations in his name to the Wounded Warrior Project for veterans or the VNA Hospice House.
