Mrs. Helen Yourison, 94, of Sebastian, FL died peacefully, after a brief illness on June 10, 2016, at her Granddaughters home in Vero Beach with her family by her side.
Helen was born June 8, 1922 in Camden, NJ. Although she and her siblings were born and raised on a farm, Helen always enjoyed making time for practice & playing softball with her High School team. After graduating High School, she met her future husband and started her own family. Although she worked various accounting jobs, her priority always lied with helping raise her family.
Helen deeply loved her family. The stories she told carried on for a lifetime, not only for her, but for the ones she passed them on to. Her vibrant attitude followed her everywhere she went allowing her to touch even more lives. She always saw the light in things and carried that with her until her last moments.
Survivors include her sister, Irene Simpkins, of Newark, DE; grandchildren,n Lisa Powell Johnson, and Robert Powell; great grandchildren, Brandon Neal, Bailey Powell, and Shelby Powell; and great-great grandchild, Elizabeth Neal. Helen was predeceased by her loving husband of 58 years, Vernon "Buck" Yourison and their daughter, Susan P. Powell; brothers, Andrew Smith, Ronnie Smith, and Frank Smith and her sister, Celie Pinto.

A Memorial Service will be held July 8, 2016 at 10:00 AM at Riverside Church located at 11205 Roseland Road, Sebastian, FL. This will be followed by a Celebration of her life at one of her dear friend's house. Arrangements are under the directions of Seawinds Funeral Home in Sebastian, FL.
