Howard Lemuel Cousins, age 62, of Vero Beach, Florida, died Tuesday, January 24, at Sebastian River Memorial, with his wife, family and a few close friends, at his side.

He was born to Lemuel and Crystal Cousins on December 2, 1954, in Mars Hill, Maine. After graduating High School, he moved to Jupiter, Florida, where he met his wife, Cindy Hamilton, of Lake Park, Florida. They were married on May 11, 1974, at the Rivera Beach Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. He was a baptized member of Jehovah's Witnesses from the age of 16.

He became a firefighter for Rivera Beach in 1979, and retired a Captain of the Fire-Rescue Department after 20 years of service. The following year, he and his wife moved to Hendersonville, NC, and lived there for five years. In 2006, they moved to Vero Beach, Florida, Sebastian area, to be close to their only daughter and grandson.

His passion was music; he sang and played the guitar. He also loved fishing, boating, reading, and cooking. In fact, he was a great cook and loved to entertain and share a meal with others.

He is survived by his wife Cindy Cousins; daughter Genevieve Goodfellow; grandson Jonah Goodfellow; parents, Lemuel and Crystal Cousins; sister, Sharon Hall, and his brothers, William Cousins, Jeffrey Cousins, and Edward Cousins.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, January 28, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Sebastian, Florida.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Sebastian South Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.
