Jim's Obituary
James Richard Beaven, Jim, passed away at the Sebastian, Florida Medical Center on February 4, 2021 with his family by his side.
Jim was born in Easton, Maryland to the late George and Anna Lee Beaven on September 9, 1946. He was raised in Queen Anne, Maryland and graduated from Centreville High School in 1964. He worked with his father in the family business, and after his father's death he ran the business until moving to Virginia Beach in the early 1970s. After a vacation in Florida, Jim fell in love with South Florida and moved there in the mid-1970s, eventually settling in Fort Lauderdale. There he met the love of his life, Debbie. They were married in August 1980. They retired to Sebastian, Florida in 2013.
Jim was an avid fisherman and won many trophies and awards for his bill fishing prowess.
Jim is survived by his wife Debbie and his brother George (Linda) of Woodbridge, Virginia. He is also survived by his brother-in-law, Bob, and his sister-in-law, Mickie (Danny), 11 nieces and nephews, and his beloved dog, Charlie Brown.
A memorial service will be held at Seawinds Funeral Home, 735 S. Fleming Street, Sebastian Florida 32958 at 4:00 pm on Thursday February 11. Because of COVID restrictions, attendance will be limited to 50 people. The family asks that if you would like to attend to please leave a text message or voice mail at (954) 317-8276. If the upper limit is reached we will let you know as quickly as possible to facilitate your travel plans.
As an alternative to flowers, you may send donations in Jim's name to Halo Rescue No-Kill Animal Shelter, 710 Jackson St., Sebastian, Fl 32958.
