James Dana Hutchinson Jr., 92, of Sebastian Florida passed away on January 9, 2014. He was born in Auburn and after serving as president of The ED Clapp Company, later lived in Longview, Texas and retired to Sebastian, Florida. Dana was a veteran of World War II and was a retired Lt. Colonel from the United States Air Force Reserve. In the course of his tour of duty, Dana flew 108 missions as a P47 Thunderbolt Fighter Pilot with the 81st Fighter Command of the 9th Air Force. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross and many other high honors.
Surviving are his wife, the former Elizabeth Christopher; sons James (Jenny) Hutchinson, Dale(Marge) Hutchinson and David (Diane) Hutchinson;stepchildren A. Thomas (Mary Ann) Giannone, Nancy (Michael) Sarafoglu, David Giannone,Christopher Giannone and Aimee (Stephen Fernandez) Giannone; also grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Seawinds Funeral Home has charge of arrangements. Services are private and burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery, Washington, DC.
