Obituary

James “Jim” Vose, devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully in sleep on July 28, 2026, at Orlando Regional Medical Center, Florida at the age of 81. Born on May 2, 1945, in Miami, FL, Jim lived a life dedicated to his family and service to his country.

Jim proudly served in the U.S. Air Force for 26+ years, attaining the rank of Chief Master Sergeant. After retiring from the military, he first joined NAF, then switched to Civil Service. Jim retired from Civil Service after 19+ years. His military and Civil Service career was with MWR, Services, and Force Support. Both his military and civilian career took him all over the globe, from Incirlick AFB,Turkey, RAF Mildenhall, England, Yokota AFB, Japan, Shaw AFB, SC, Griffiss AFB, NY, Hickam AFB, HI, Brooks AFB and Sheppard AFB, TX, and of course Homestead AFB, FL. After Jim’s final retirement, although never serving in the U.S. Navy, he enjoyed cruising the oceans of the world.

Jim is preceded in death by his parents Jimmie Vose, Tommie Parrish (Davis) and Sheldon Parrish, his brother Cleveland Parrish and brother-in-law Marion Pope. He leaves behind a loving family of his wife of 35 years, Brenda Vose, his brothers Leroy and Roscoe Parrish and sister Sherlie Parrish, sons James "Jim" Vose, Jr., Richard Tyrone and Christopher Reeves, grandchildren Deyvon Reeves, Shayla Robinson, Breyanna and Richard "Tony" Reeves, Brenda Janelle Nunez (Reeves), Camryn Reeves, Hope Grimm, Ivy Reeves, and great-grandchildren Jaylen and Malia Robinson, Raelyn, Royce, Rich and Rahmir Reeves, Xavier, Adonis, Alaylie and Dominik Louis James Nunez, and Ariella King, nieces and nephews Rodney Lively, Chiquita Parrish-Hunter, Laquita Ferguson, Randolph Moore III, Keon Day, Chyna Rackley, Cleveland Parrish, Jr., Trellany Parrish-Gay, TeKia Parrish, Brandon Parrish, and Roscoe Parrish, Jr.

Memorial services will be held on August 15, 2026, at Seawinds Funeral Home and Crematory, 735 South Fleming St, Sebastian, FL, 32958. The viewing is from 2-3:30 pm, with service from 3:30-5:30 pm with the repass being held at Sebastian River Landings Club House at 6pm. For those unable to attend the memorial service, it will be broadcast live on the funeral home website www.seawindsfh.com starting at 2pm. 

Military funeral and honors will be held at the Cape Canaveral National Cemetery on August 18, 2026, at 1 pm.
