Janet Schiefer, 81 of Sebastian Florida passed away unexpectedly at home on Tuesday 9/29/26. She was the daughter of the late Adolph & Dorothy Geils of Barefoot Bay. 

Janet was originally from New Milford, NJ, Graduated from New Milford High School in 1964. She married her late husband John Schiefer in 1964 and lived in New Milford until 2006 when they moved to Sebastian Florida. They had two children. 

Janet is survived by her Daugher Janette Schiefer of Palm Bay & John Schiefer and wife Robyn of Highland Lakes, NJ., Three grandchildren Jacquelyn, Alexis & Dylan & one Great Grandchild Deacon. Sister Sandy Austin and husband Kenny of Sewell NJ & Patti Geils of Barefoot Bay fl. Along with Nieces, Nephews and Cousins.

 Janet Had many passions & skills to include being a docent for the Van Suan Park Zoo in N.J. Loved animals & dogs and spent many years training dogs and helping with wildlife rescues in N.J. She enjoyed sewing & Quilting & belonged to the Sebastian Quilters where she was a past president, in charge of housekeeping & loved to help others with quilting. She enjoyed Yard Saling on the weekends and spending time at the boat ramp by the river in the evenings with her husband and friends. 

Per Janet’s wishes no viewing or services will be held.
