Obituary

Jason Patrick Lee Williams, 55, lost his battle with ALS after almost 5 years. He passed away peacefully on the afternoon of July 2, 2026 at his home in Sebastian, FL.

Jason was born on December 6, 1970 in Melbourne, FL to James and Joanne Williams. As a youngster, he decided he wanted to be a golf professional. No one knows why he chose golf, as no one in the family played, but he began spending most afternoons after school at the golf course. Then he started taking lessons from Coach Horgen and the rest is history.

He attended Satellite High School where he began to excel at golf. He joined Coach Horgen and the golf team at BCC (Brevard Community College now Eastern Florida State College) where they were National Champions. He was an All-American selection both years. Moving on to Florida State University’s golf team he was an All-American selection again!

Jason continued with the sport by becoming a club golf professional at Carolina Club in Margate, FL (1st assistant) for 3 years. Jason left the state of Florida for Georgia, where he became the golf professional at Stone Mountain Golf Club for 2 years.

Then Jason found the job of his dreams working for Bridgestone Golf. He started with inside sales in Georgia then became the Territory Sales Manager (TSM) of Northeast Florida for the last 25 years. He enjoyed great success as a salesman – he won Salesman of the Year and Salesman of the Region twice. He loved taking care of his customers and established great friendships along the way.

In turn, Bridgestone golf was instrumental in helping Jason cope with ALS fully supporting him throughout the process. And of course, Jason’s wife and primary caregiver Janet, was Jason’s rock during the ALS journey. Both Jason and Janet had such great attitudes during the ALS battle. It was their humor and positive attitude that kept him going.

Jason never met a stranger. It was his love for engaging with people that made him successful and helped him navigate the ups and downs of ALS. Oh, and let’s not forget his love of quoting famous lines from movies and sharing war stories!

Jason is survived by his wife Janet, his mother Joanne, his sister Debbie (Marilee), and his cats Ma Ma and Parmi. He was preceded in death by his father James.

His memorial service is scheduled for Monday, July 13th, 11am, at Saint Sebastian Catholic Church 13075 US Highway 1, Sebastian, FL 32958. With a reception to follow in the hall at the church. Please join us at the reception to share your stories of Jason so we can all remember the great times with him.
