Jean Reiss, 74, of Sebastian, FL, died peacefully Thursday, December 22, 2022 with her family by her side.

She was born in Boston, MA to the late John F. and Mary C. Dempsey on July 30, 1948. Jean resided in Norwood, MA most of her life and moved to Sebastian, FL in May 2021 to be closer to her family.

Jean graduated from Norwood High School and spent thirty years working at Norwood Hospital in various kitchen positions and also in the Transport Department. She enjoyed bowling, ceramics and latchwork.

She will be remembered for her generosity and her cheery personality.

She was predeceased by her husband, Harold J. Reiss, who passed away in 1991. She is survived by her sister, Patricia (Dempsey) Fisher of Norwood, MA and her husband, Anthony B. of Walpole, MA; sister, Eleanor M. Dempsey formerly of Norwood, MA; and her niece, Janine M. Fisher formerly of Westford, MA.

A celebration of Jean's life will be held at The Promenade Assisted Senior Living Facility in Sebastian, FL in early January. Interment will be in the late spring at St. Joseph's Cemetery in West Roxbury, MA.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the VNA/Hospice House, 910 37th St., Vero Beach, FL 32960.
