Joan Marie Kimmel, of Sebastian, died peacefully Monday July 7th, 2025 with a dear family friend by her side.

Joan was born to Lewis and Irene Henry on August 7th 1931 in West Berlin, NJ.  She was the 4th of 4 sisters.  Mary Albertson, Luda Fulmer, and Doris Foster.  She graduated high school in Davidsville, PA.  Soon after, Joan married Arnold Jay Kimmel on July 23rd, 1949.  Joan and Arnold were married 69 and a half years until his passing in 2020.

Joan was a homemaker, a great mother, and a good friend to neighbors.  She was a member of the Eastern Star, an avid bowler, and loved to make craft wreaths.

Arnold was an operating engineer on heavy equipment for road construction so they moved frequently from job to job while the turnpikes were being built in the Pennsylvania and New York.  They would pack up the mobile home and move to wherever the new job was. Joan listed  36 different residences until they retired 1993 and relocated to Sebastian, FL.  They were both very active in the 1st Presbyterian Church of Sebastian. Joan was a member of the choir and they were both instrumental in the development and construction of the Memorial Garden located on the church grounds.  She also volunteered with meals on wheels, and was a member of the Red Hat group.

Joan and Arnold were inseparable and made many life long friends wherever they lived.

Joan is survived by her children Lynn Yannaccone of Huron, TN and Mark Kimmel of Sebastian, FL. 6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

Services will be held at the 1st Presbyterian church of Sebastian on a date to be decided.
