John Irving Coard, a resident of Sebastian, FL, for 28 years, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on January 8. Born and raised in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late Charles Coard Sr. and Mildred Coard.

John is survived by his devoted wife of 20 years, Susan D. Coard, and his loving children: John A. Coard (Kerri), Jennifer A. Behrens, and Julie A. Coard. He was the proud grandfather of Madisen Coard-Jones, Emily Coard, Ashley Coard, and Peter Behrens, great-grandfather of Eleanor Jones, and foster daughter Tonya Heinlein, all of whom he loved dearly and who brought him immense joy.

He is also survived by his sisters, Della Baur and Barbara Greeley, along with many extended family members who held a special place in his heart.

John was predeceased by his first wife of 34 years and the mother of his children, Susan A. Coard; his brothers, Charles Coard and William Coard; his sisters, Joan Merrill and Mary Walker; and his beloved aunt, Zoe Duke.

John had a great sense of humor, often breaking into song despite his lack of talent, skillfully tackling construction projects, and being a steady rock for his family.
